The BEST authentic Japanese food I’ve had since I’ve lived in the US. I was skeptical at first when I saw its location but once I walked in, I was shocked. The shrimp tempura MELTS in your mouth and the miso soup is amazingly flavorful. You will not regret dining here.

The food here is really quite good for a local sushi restaurant. I appreciate the solid service and quick food turn around, even when you walk in to order carryout. The have a neat little area where you sit in a more traditional, shoes off environment. Be aware that no shoes in that area is quite strict.The rolls are big on fish and light on rice so it makes for an excellent value compared to other locations. Definitely worth a try.

We got takeout from this place for mother's day. I jsut have to say we were impressed with the quality, especially because they were absolutely swamped at the time!I got the "Hana's Splendid Roll" and my wife got the "Lobster Roll." Both were delicious. I bit pricey for the amount we got (about $30 for both rolls, see pictures), but it was high quality.We also got takeout steak hibachi with rice and salad. Both were great.Our hunger for good Japanese food was satiated!

The dishes were good the service was great. It was fairly empty when I went in which made one on one attention from the staff convenient. I went during lunch. I think for some if the place were to get busy would think seating is too "intimate". Otherwise a great place to eat.

Generously sized maki rolls with decent amounts of fresh tasting fish. Received a complimentary appetizer of salmon skin. Come during lunch for a good deal on maki rolls.

It's right next to my house, the menu is both classic and inventive and the prices are so reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant atmosphere is nice, and we enjoyed the "traditional" tables, where your feet so below the for surface to simulate sitting on the ground. The sushi was not good at all. We ordered Tuna, salmon, eel, scallops, a couple specialty rolls, and shrimp tempura. None of the rolls were terrible, but since we enjoy good sushi we know that the fish quality and temperature makes a big difference. The waitress might have been new, or just truly didn't know English because we had to verify our order a couple times. The food came out at all different times for our party of 4, so it was awkward to eat when 2 of us didn't have food yet. Lastly, the waitress was clearing our plates while others were eating, and reaching directly across our face while clearing. It was rude. I think this is due to the height difference of us on the floor, but she should have bent down and then reached rather than just reach over our faces!

The food was alright but as others have said the staff was rude. At first I thought it was just because we had a harder time understanding them but they served three things wrong and blamed us Everytime, even going so far as to say this is what we pointed at. My wife hates fish, she'd never order something with fish in it (she got chicken).

Delicious chicken. Used chopsticks because all are simply bite-sized. Love that homemade miso soup. So good, a must for every one every time!

Salmon was good. The tuna I got tonight though was bad an horrible which is not okay that's a good way to make people sick. I would not recommend this place.

Very good service and attractive atmosphere - best dining option in the area. Reasonable prices and good quality. Fresh ingredients and clean well maintained establishment - actual tatami style low tables if you wish. Standard American tables if you don't. House sake very nice. Recommend the shrimp and vegetable tempura.

I ordered take out on a Friday night. I ordered the crunchy spicy salmon roll and the rock shrimp avocado roll. Both rolls tasted fresh and were good. I thought I was going to get 8 pieces instead of 6. When looking at the sushi menu I felt like some of the sushi was overpriced. Next time I go I’m definitely going during lunch hour.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. The fish is always fresh and the rolls have (what I call) the right proportion of rice to fish. Their shrimp tempura is also one of my favorites.

This is my favorite sushi place in Maryland! I used to go there frequently and when I was back visiting recently, I knew I had to stop in. The wait staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing and very well presented. Every time I go, there are dishes that I order that are the same and the presentation is always unique (for example, the appetizer "Treasure Island"). The mochi ice cream is fantastic too!

Authentic Japanese cuisine in a pleasant setting. Sushi is fresh and made to order. Lunch menu is reasonable and every item delicious tasting. Happy to find such a nice spot in the neighborhood. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

I've only done take out. Good quality rolls. Miso soup was pretty good as well. Small intimate inside. Sunken tables where guests are asked to remove their shoes. I'd like to try it sometime.

The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. I ordered a few different sushi rolls, and the quality was acceptable. However, the spicy tuna was not that enjoyable. The tuna was of a texture akin to that of something ground, and the consistency was gritty. The overall experience would be enough for me to return to try the other menu items, but I would not order the spicy tuna again.

Atmosphere and food was good. The only complaint was our chicken was over cooked.

We have been going here since it opened, and are on our second owners. Never been disappointed, always fresh and generous portions. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Jen was an outstanding hostess! Very patient and informative in describing the spefic entrees, and dessert dishes. Service was most excellent! Prices were modest and servings were large. I really liked their fried rice as it had eggs, peas, and carrots - quite tasty! My buddy James and I highly recommend this place. 😊🤗🤗🤗🤗

I've been here a few times: sometimes with my Mom, and other times with my husband. Either way, it's a relaxing environment with good food and good service. Highly recommended for a calm retreat from the every day.

Some of the best sushi we’ve had in a long time. This place is a great find and I guarantee a great dinner. The staff is prompt and friendly. The food is sublime. The restaurant is set up half-tables and chairs and half traditional Japanese eating (sans shoes). My husband and I have had great experiences here! You’ll love it!

I was excited to hear about a traditional Japanese restaurant in my area. I just finished my lunch and I can't hesitate a review. I had a chicken bento box and it was downright wonderful. Every bit of it was just amazing. From the salad to the miso soup and on to my dinner. Absolutely wonderful in every sense.

This place was delicious, affordable, and had great portions! I just moved to the area for work and had been disappointed at every sushi place until I found this one! The staff is friendly and attentive! The atmosphere is really neat (they have some Japanese seating arrangements in certain parts of the restaurant!) They were willing to go off the menu for me which was really kind of them! I cannot stress enough that the quality of the fish was what got me. Simply delectable!

Pleasant atmosphere, fast and attentive service. Food was delivered promptly. My mom and I both love the Pink Lady roll. The Pho Noodle soup comes out in a huge bowl and is amazing.

They always late. They take forever to make pick up order. They tell u 15 mins on the phone and u go there and they make u wait another 20 mins. They don’t even have enough employees to serve their inside customers. If you don’t wanna wait here then don’t come here

First time here and let me say this is a fantastic place. Very good food and a wonderful wait staff. We ordered the Lemongrass hot and sour soup, Osaka roll, Lovers roll, SnowWhite and the Sunshine girl roll. These rolls were so good my wife and I were humming and dancing happily to ourselves while chewing. I would definitely suggest this place to our family and friends and anyone who wants to listen. Thank you so much Hana!!! You have earned 2 new customers for life.

The food's great. The staff are nice enough, but a bit standoffish. The atmosphere is cozy and quiet at dinner on weekdays. The menu has some variety and the prices are about average for a good sushi place.
